The PS of Sweden Athens Bridle in Brown Leather combines classic design with innovative anatomical features, making it perfect for sensitive horses. While it appears to be a traditional bridle with a standard cavesson, the Athens is packed with thoughtful details that minimize pressure and enhance comfort, especially during jumping and eventing.
- Noseband: The lower strap of the cavesson is anatomically curved to contour perfectly around the horse’s nose. Soft padding at the cheekbones and nose bridge prevents chafing, while the discreetly stamped PS logo adds a touch of elegance. The padded cushion is adjustable for an optimal fit, and the highly customizable straps allow for easy adjustment. Designed to keep airways free from pressure, the cavesson does not interfere with the horse’s breathing. Additionally, the buckles are covered in leather to ensure comfort.
- Headpiece: Featuring an air channel that runs over the highest point of the neck and mane, the headpiece provides maximum freedom for sensitive nerves and muscle attachments. The softly padded, anatomical edges around the ears and the round cutout at the top help to distribute pressure evenly across the headpiece.
- Cheekpieces: Our cheekpieces are crafted to reduce neck pressure with the help of our elastic Cradles™. This extra elastic band allows the bit to rest comfortably, providing a “spring” effect that relieves static pressure on the horse’s teeth and jaws. The cradles are sewn in place, making this bridle particularly suitable for jumping and eventing, although it’s equally effective for dressage work. French hooks allow for easy bit changes, enhancing convenience for the rider.
- Browband: The U-shaped browband design avoids pressure on the horse’s forehead and eye socket. Rubber on the inside of the buckle ensures it stays in place, and the Click-it™ feature allows for quick browband changes even while the horse is wearing the bridle.

- Become strong or “spooky” when approaching obstacles
