Membership Upgrade Policy

1. General Overview

  • Memberships grant access to a specified spending allowance (Bronze: €400, Silver: €1000, Gold: €2000) valid for 12 months.
  • Memberships will automatically renew for another 12-month duration unless cancelled by the member before the renewal date. Members will receive notifications prior to renewal.

2. Upgrade and Cross-grade Eligibility

Members can upgrade to a higher tier (Bronze to Silver or Gold, Silver to Gold) at any time, but downgrades are not allowed.

In addition to upgrading, members who have reached their spending allowance before the end of their 12-month period may choose to cross-grade. Cross-grading enables you to “fast-track” your membership duration within your current tier. This resets your annual spending allowance and initiates a new 12-month period, giving you the same benefits without moving to a higher tier.

Both upgrades and cross-grades follow the same financial terms, starting a new 12-month membership duration from the date of change.

3. Financial Terms of Upgrades

Upon upgrading, members will be charged:

  • The full membership price (monthly or annually) for the new tier.
  • A one-time outstanding balance payment reflecting the balance for the unpaid amount of their previous tier. This only applies if they are on a monthly payment plan and have not fully paid for their existing membership.
    • Example: If a member is on the Bronze tier at €7.5 per month for 12 months (totaling €90) and has paid €60 so far, they will be charged a Outstanding Balance Payment of €30 upon upgrading.
  • If a member has paid their membership upfront (annually), they can upgrade without any additional charge.

The new membership will begin a fresh 12-month period from the upgrade date.

4. Upgrade Process

Members can initiate an upgrade through their account dashboard or by contacting customer support.

Please note that each member may have only one active membership per email address, and any new membership will not become active until the existing membership term is fully completed and paid for.

The upgrade will take effect immediately upon approval. At that time, any outstanding balance payment for the previous membership and the first payment for the new tier will be charged.

5. Spending Allowance

  • After an upgrade, the member’s annual spending allowance will immediately increase to match the new tier’s allowance (Bronze: €400, Silver: €1000, Gold: €2000).
  • The spending allowance resets to the full amount of the new tier on the upgrade date, allowing members to utilise the entire allowance for the next 12 months.

6. Billing Cycle

  • The billing date for the new subscription aligns with the upgrade date.
  • Billing will continue monthly or annually, based on the selected payment option, throughout the new 12-month duration.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

  • The 12-month duration applies to all upgrades.
  • No refunds will be issued for the one-time outstanding balance payment charged for the remaining balance of the previous tier.
  • Standard cancellation policies will apply to the new subscription as per our general terms. Members can cancel anytime during the last 30 days of their membership to prevent renewal.

8. Future Upgrades

  • Members wishing to upgrade again before their new 12-month period concludes will be subject to the same policy, including payment for the outstanding balance payment of their current tier.
  • Amiko & Friends reserves the right to modify this policy. Any changes will be communicated to members and will apply only to future upgrades.
