Hazel Airbag Safety Vest

Hazel is an airbag vest for riders who want protection without feeling padded into place. It’s one of the lightest vests of its kind, and the stretch fabric sits close against the body rather than sitting on top of it — light enough that you stop noticing it a few minutes into a ride.

The outer shell is supple and breathable, lined with 3D mesh to keep air moving against the skin. The cut is open under the arms, so sitting deep, reaching forward and using your hands doesn’t meet resistance. A front zip closes it, and release is mechanical — a cable connects the vest to the saddle, and the airbag inflates the moment that connection breaks.

Available in XXS–XXL. Suitable for dressage, jumping and groundwork, worn either over your everyday riding clothes or under a compatible competition jacket. On deployment it protects the back, chest and sides, and guards against hyperflexion and hyperextension of the neck and spine.

CE certified to EN 1621-4. One cartridge is included, and the vest is reusable — replace the cartridge after deployment and it’s ready again.

Each vest ships with the cartridge that matches its size. Replacement cartridges are sold by volume rather than by vest size, so check which one your vest takes before ordering.

Care
Hazel should not be machine washed. Wipe the shell clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then let it air dry away from direct heat. No tumble drying, no ironing, no fabric softener. Store it flat or hanging in a dry place, and check that the cartridge is intact and correctly seated before each ride.
