Say hello to our first-ever Member of the Month: Anna from Utrecht!

We’re so excited to launch something close to our hearts: the Member of the Month series.

Amiko & Friends isn’t just about riding breeches and helmets – it’s about the people who make this community what it is. The weekend warriors. The stable dreamers. The bold business owners. The horse lovers who show up every day with muddy boots and big dreams.

Each month, we’ll highlight one inspiring member – not just to celebrate them, but to connect all of us a little more. And we’re starting strong with Anna Krén, a 26-year-old equestrian based in Utrecht who proves that following your passion can become your purpose. From her unique horses (a Hanoverian dressage diva and a cheeky mountain pony) to her business in equine therapy, Anna brings heart, humor, and healing to everything she does.

Meet Anna: Therapist, Rider & Horse-First Pioneer

Anna may have grown up in Budapest and Berlin, far from barns or ponies, but her connection to horses started early:

After a lot of begging, I was allowed to take riding lessons at the age of 9. After that, my stubbornness won – my parents didn’t believe I would stick to it past my teenage years. Joke’s on them, it’s my career now!”

Now based in the Netherlands, she shares her life with two very different – but equally charming – horses:

🐝 Impala (aka Biene, German for “bee”), an 18-year-old Hanoverian mare. Bred for jumping, Biene prefers dressage and groundwork.

She’s very sweet but also very particular. She dislikes physical touch but absolutely loves NMSK therapy. Her sport career has turned into a well-being career.

🍝 Pasja (Pasta to her friends), a 12-year-old Huzul mare – a rare Carpathian Mountain Horse.

Her biggest quirk is that she knows when she’s doing something ‘wrong’ (like twisting off the feed box lid) but also knows I find her incredibly funny – so she gets away with her cheekiness a lot.

What Anna loves most about horses is their honesty:

“Not one day goes by when they don’t mirror you and show you your true state of mind.”

And her biggest lesson from them?

“Failing is okay. It’s how you handle it that truly matters.”

When she’s not in the stable, Anna is running FlowMotion Equine Neuromyoskeletal Therapy, her equine therapy business that combines science, intuition, and care.

“FlowMotion supports horses in recovery, performance, and psychological balance—by working with their nervous system, not against it. My approach is personalized, science-based, and always horse-first. Trust, communication, and owner involvement are at the heart of every session.”

Her mission is clear:

“I want to help set a new, kinder standard in equine care. One where recovery and well-being are seen as essential to performance – not just add-ons.”

Balancing her business and horses is a daily dance:

“I try to put my work stress aside when I’m with them. Unless they’re part of the work, like shoots, I enter their space only once I mentally let go. It’s not foolproof, but it’s the reality.”

A few more fun facts?

📚 She’s finishing her degree in International Equine Business Management.
🧹 Her must-have item in the stable? “A good broom!”
🧡 Her favorite Amiko products? The olive base layer, the Kendall jacket – and she just ordered our helmet!

And finally, the question Anna wants to pass on to next month’s featured member:

“If you could change one thing in the equestrian community, what would it be?”
